Explore Your Senses and Memories

Our senses have a powerful connection to our memories—they help us relive moments and feelings in a very special way.

This week, I want you to explore how one of your senses (sight, sound, touch, or taste) is tied to a memory thatโ€™s meaningful to you.

Itโ€™s a chance to be creative and reflect on the moments that have shaped you while practicing descriptive language in English.

I think youโ€™ll enjoy this because itโ€™s personal, fun, and a little different from what weโ€™ve done before!

1. Choose a Different Sense

Instead of focusing on smell, choose another sense (sight, sound, touch, or taste) that triggers memories for you.

Describe Your Memory

Write a short paragraph (6–8 sentences) describing a memory that is connected to that sense. Use sensory details to make it vivid.

  • For sight: Describe what you saw.
  • For sound: Describe what you heard and how it made you feel.
  • For touch: Describe what you felt (e.g., warmth, softness, roughness).
  • For taste: Describe what you tasted and the emotions it brought.
2. Describe Your Memory
Write your response here using 6โ€“8 sentences with sensory details.

3. A Sensory Collage

Find or draw one picture that represents the memory you described.

Write 3โ€“4 words around the picture to describe the feelings or senses connected to the memory.

Picture/Image
1. Upload the image(s) 2. Write and describe the feelings or senses connected to the memory.
